Mr. Selden is a graduate of Princeton University (1978), and New York Law School (1981).  He was admitted to the Bar of New York (1982) and New Jersey (1983), and has practiced for over 28 years.  As an attorney and resident of Florida since 1991, he has given his career to public service as both a trial and appellate attorney for the Office of the Public Defender.  He currently serves as Division Chief, West Volusia County, supervising 11 attorneys in two felony, one juvenile, and two misdemeanor court divisions.  His duties also include being chief of the Civil Commitment Division, for the entire Seventh Circuit.  Mr. Selden has vigorously defended the Constitution throughout his career, and works to uphold the law to the highest standards of justice.
